The SW snow drought has hit the Enchanted Forest Cross-Country Ski Area hard this year. Cowboy singer and Western historian Michael Martin Murphey is a long-time supporter of the area and has generously offered to do a benefit concert to see us through the winter and help expand our program into a four-season outdoor recreation center to buffer us against future snowless winters. If you are are in N. New Mexico on January 6, I hope you will attend. If you are not in the area, you can still help by contributing to the area's crowdfunding campaign: www.indiegogo.com/p…/save-enchanted-forest/x/3613221 ... See MoreSee Less

National Ski Patrol Volunteer Staff – Need Volunteers!
From: Jim Woodrum <jrwoodrum@centurytel.net>
Sent: Friday, October 6, 2017 8:09 AM

Subject: National Advisors/Directors

We can use your help in filling the roles of those National Volunteer Staff that are at the end of their service term. As you will recall the Board passed a motion that any National Advisor or Program Director that has been in their role for six years must be replaced by Jan. 1, 2018. The Selection Committees have been established and will develop the announcement for the National Website for the following roles:

Awards,
Medical,
Historian,
Telecommunications

I know that it is difficult at times to give people up in your Division Staff, but if you could recommend a person for each role from each division that would help a tremendous amount in filling these roles. No one wants to lose good people, but having good people help at a higher level means an even greater contribution to the system. To help support this cause would you please ask your Regions and Patrols to look into their members and see if there is a few that are willing to step up to another challenge and contribute in yet another way. Could you also post on your websites to help spread the word of the search for candidates.

I’ve asked that this application process take about a month and then evaluation of candidates and recommendations near the beginning of December.

I can’t thank each of you enough for the work you do at the Division level and your contributions to our National efforts. Having been in your role for a number of years myself, I know all the efforts you put in to make the system work and that is certainly appreciated.

Jim
